Philip II was once King of Spain, King of Portugal, King of Naples and Sicily, and jure uxoris King of England and Ireland. He was once also Duke of Milan, and from 1555, lord of the Seventeen Provinces of the Netherlands. Alexander III of Macedon, frequently recognised as Alexander the Great, used to be a king of the historical Greek kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty. He was once born in Pella in 356 BC and succeeded his father Philip II to the throne at the age of 20. Darius III, in the beginning named Artashata and known as Codomannus by using the Greeks, was once the final king of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia, from 336 BC to 330 BC. Artashata adopted Darius as a dynastic name.
