integrity

During this unexpected time of the year we are forced to do cyber school because we cannot go back to school. It is stressful for the students and the teachers trying to get used to this extreme change. Teachers have to make sure they have their assignments up before their first class starts. And students have to make sure they have all of their work done by certain times in the day. Most students including myself have been copying and pasting trying to get their work done by using someones work that they have worked hard on. So we have to try and get the most out of this online schooling while we can by doing our own work so we are somewhat learning the material we need to know.

The Athens Plague

The Athens Plague was an epidemic that went through almost the whole city of Athens. The plague lasted from 430 BC to 426 BC. It started in Sub-Saharan Africa. The plague came to Athens through the city's port Piraeus. The spread while Athens and Sparta were fighting in a war. By the end of it it killed 1/3 of the population. COVID-19 started in a food market in China when ate bat soup. The virus spread very quickly and started taking most of the countries around it to now it being in almost every country in the world. It is mainly affecting older people but can affect younger kids with weak immune systems. It is spread very easily but is very scary because you may not know you have it because most people that have it do not have any symptoms at all.

Leaders

When Philip the second first started being king of Spain it was the start of the Golden Age. King Philip the Second also lead Portugal, Naples, and Sicily. He was a strong leader with a lot of military experience. But that led to his death to Cancer on September 13th 1598. Alexander the Great was a king of Ancient Greece. He changed Greece for the better by helping their military tactics and for the Persians he taught them a Greek way of life. He was one of the main reasons Ancient Greece was so strong and dominant in most wars they fought. We are not certain how he died but some people believe he died of a fever that lasted ten days in Babylon on June 23BCE. Darius the Third was the last king of Persia. He was a relatively weak leader. Alexander invaded Persia and fought many wars against them and ended up taking over Persia. Darius the Third was killed by his cousin Satrap Bessus.

The plague with Athens vs COVID-19

The Plague of Athens  used to be  an epidemic that devastated the city-state of Athens in  historical  Greece  in the course of  the second year  of the Peloponnesian War when an Athenian victory  nonetheless   regarded   inside  reach. It also spread all around Athens at the time. The coronavirus is spreading all around the world right now too. It also is killing people just like the Athens plague did.

biography

Philip II  was once  King of Spain, King of Portugal, King of Naples and Sicily, and jure uxoris King of England and Ireland. He  was once   also  Duke of Milan, and from 1555, lord of the Seventeen Provinces of the Netherlands. Alexander III of Macedon,  frequently   recognised  as Alexander the Great,  used to be  a king of the  historical  Greek kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty. He  was once  born in Pella in 356 BC and succeeded his father Philip II to the throne at the age of 20. Darius III,  in the beginning  named Artashata and  known as  Codomannus  by using  the Greeks,  was once  the  final  king of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia, from 336 BC to 330 BC. Artashata adopted Darius as a dynastic name.

Alexander the Great

Alexander the great had a horse named  Bucephalus. Alexander the Great rode him everywhere even into battle.  Bucephalus died after the Battle of  Hydaspes  in 326 BC, in what is now modern Punjab   Province  of Pakistan.  Bucephalus is described as having a black coat with a large white star on his brow. Alexander  spoke soothingly to the horse and turned it toward the sun so that it could no longer see its own shadow, which had been the cause of its distress.  Alexander successfully tamed the horse.  As one of his chargers, Bucephalus served Alexander in numerous battles.  The value which Alexander placed on Bucephalus emulated his hero and supposed ancestor  Achilles , who claimed that his horses were "known to excel all others for they are immortal.  Bucephalus died at the age of thirty. However, the cause of death not old age or weariness, but fatal injuries at the Battle of the  Hydaspes  (June 326 BC), in which Alexander's army defeated  King Porus .

cyber day 4

The last week has been stressful and a lot of getting used to with everything going on and its so new. There is a lot of trying to figure things out and how to turn things in. It is a lot easier just being in school because we already know how to turn things in and get around. Sometimes it is hard to find everything you are supposed to do for that day. Also, figuring out when things have to be turned in because you do not want to turn things in late but also want to get things done when you have to because you have to check in sometimes.

video #2

They would question it because they were not doing it correctly. They would question things that were smart and needed some thinking to go into it. He was doing it the right way but everyone else was so focused on the laws that they did not really notice that they were doing it right in desicion making and they were doing it wrong the whole time.

In the video Athens was trying to be the highest empire and would control the Mediterranean sea on all sides. It was going good until Pericles got sick and everything started to go down hill for Athens. He was sick for six months and relied on medicine and magic to save him. Then once he died three other strong leaders with different plans all came and tried to be the new leader of Athens which did not work out at first.
