Ethan Blog Western Civ

Today in class we took a quiz on the material that we have been learning for the past few days. I feel like I did ok on it but there was a few things I did not know. I studied the stuff but I feel like I could have studied harder or looked over it a bit more. After the quiz was over we took notes in the book on the Nile River. I will start to study these notes so when it comes time to study for the test I will not have to take as much time on those certain things because i would have already learned it. So in the future I will make sure to study harder and to look over things right when I get them and not wait until it is time to study for the test so I am not studying as much.

Today in class we went over everything that we learned in class for the past few days. I will need to study to do well on the test and go over what I read in class so I can learn what I need to know. Also, I will make sure to read over his blogs so I do not miss anything that I may need to know. Another thing I will do is go over the power point to go over any notes I did not get in class because of the two days I missed due to me being sick. I think I will do ok on the quiz because I feel like I will understand it pretty well and know what I will need to know. So I will make sure to study hard and go over everything so I can do well on it.

Today was the first day of Western civ and the first day we had the class of the second semester. We went over the seating chart and some of the things we will need for this course. We need a compesition notebook to take notes in. Second we will need to do a blog every night that we have class ever if we were sick to let him know we were not in class. Also, we will need to take notes everyday in class in order to complete our blogs. Another thing will we need is our compesition notebook on friday to get ten easy points as the first few points of the class. Finally, we set up our blogs in class and emailed him our blog url to do our blogs so he can see them by sunday when they are due. That is what we did class and I am excited to see what we learn they year.

Today in class we did a test on guns, germs, and steel. I feel like I did really well because I studied and new the material. I took a lot of time to study so I could do really well on it bring my grade up to a B. Also, I did my blogs that had good notes on them that we took from the video. My note paper had really good notes on it and I studied them really good so I did not just memorize it I learned the material so I knew it by heart. That was the last test of the first semester in this class and the last class of Human Geography because the class changes to Western Civ. So I feel like I did really well because I did everything I needed to do to do well.

Today in class we finished watching the video on guns, germs, and steel. After we finished watching that we went on the CIA World Fact Book. We looked up what Papa New Guinea to see how much better they are doing now than how they were 15 years ago when the video was made. They are rising and are starting to get a stronger economy. That will be important know because of the test that we have tomorrow on guns, germs, and steel. I took good notes on the material so I feel like if I study hard I will be able to do really well on the test that we have coming up tomorrow.

Today in class we continued to watch the video that we have been watching over the last few days in class. It is talking about how people lived in ancient times. One of the things the video was talking about was if you lived in the middle east you had the advantage for farming over everyone else in the world. This is so because they had the most fertile land and the best animals that would be able to help with pulling things and even for food to eat. Those things would give them a head start according to Jarad Diamond. He figured out that most countries or populations that did well had good farming. But he also figured out that it had a lot to do with geographic luck.

Today in class we watched the video that we have been watching for the last three days. It is going more into of what history had to do with certain races and what they have. Yali asked why white people have so much cargo and why we do not have as much cargo. The answer to that is more of geographic luck with the soil and how they could farm certain things to trade that would get them good money. But other then that there will be a test on the video Wednesday so I have to keep taking good notes so I am ready for the test.

Today in class we watched more of the video that we have been watching for the past two days. It is on people that live in Papa New Guinea. It focuses on how they live and how it is so much different then how we live in a more populated are with money, jobs, and transportation. So if we were to put them in New York City and say get around they would be really lost but if it was someone that is usually around that it would be easy. It is the same thing as if we were by ourselves in a rainforest. We would not be really know how to make shelter or find food to eat. So as we keep watching the video we will learn more how they live a lot differently then we do.

Today in class we started learning about guns, germs, and steel. We are watching a video about people on a small island that do not have a lot of money or wealth but they have very pretty things and hardly any trash laying around and is very clean. But we are taking notes on the video for the test that we are taking next Wednesday. I will make sure to take good notes on it so I can do really well on the test so I can boost my grade to the best it can be. But I will have to study my notes well and keep taking good notes so I am ready. So I will have to do well in order to do the best I can.
